PB & J Church
Nearly 1500 jars of Peanut Butter donated since 2005.

At our May 1, 2004 Quarterly Meeting, First Baptist Church
decided to support the Mid Coast Area Hunger Prevention Program
by donating Peanut Butter and Jelly for their Food Pantry.

So far in 2008 we have donated 203 jars of Peanut Butter and 19 jars of Jelly.
This itself is amazing considering our weekly attendance averages 40 people.
Peanut Butter is a staple in the Food Pantry because it is very high in protein.
Total amount 2005, 2006, 2007 and as of 6/1/08: Peanut Butter 1444; Jelly 380.

At a Mission Conference held at China Lake Conference Center on May 31st, 2008,
Pastor Wally spoke about our mission giving: how we tithe 25% of our weekly collection,
about the $8500 we have raised toward the purchase of TWO fresh water wells in Africa,
and how we are known as the Peanut Butter and Jelly Church by the Mid Coast AHPP.

Reid Trulson, Executive Director of American Baptist International Ministries
was the guest speaker and during his talk, acknowedged the great work being done at FBC
and congratulated us on being the PB&J church ... calling us the
Peanut Butter & Jesus Church.

What a GREAT acronym! One that we will most definitely incorporate into that mission.
